Who is Annabelle?

From New Line Cinema comes Annabelle: Creation, with David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) helming the follow-up to 2014s horror hit Annabelle.  In Annabelle: Creation, several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmakers possessed creation, Annabelle.

A new trailer for Annabelle: Creation has dropped  and it looks pretty chilling. A prequel to Annabelle, about a possessed doll, the franchise is a spin-off from the popular The Conjuring series of films.The film tells the origin story of creepy doll Annabelle and stars Miranda Otto and Anthony LaPaglia. After losing their daughter in a car accident, they apparently make contact with her spirit. But when she asks to move into the doll, they realise its not their daughter and lock the doll away. But they end up playing straight into the evil spirits hands. Needless to say, things get a whole lot more sinister. Lights Out director David F. Sandberg takes the reins, while Gary Dauberman who wrote Annabelle is on screenplay duties. Heres the official synopsis from Warner Bros: Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmakers possessed creation, Annabelle. Annabelle: Creation is released on August 11 in the US and UK.
